Consider this somewhat of a sneak peek weekend....

TEX RANGERS (-175) --
Although the road teams won every game in last seasons playoff match-up between these two teams (the first time that has ever happened in MLB history) this meeting appears to have the two hottest teams in baseball squaring off against each other. Obviously everyone was glued to what the Rays were doing as they overcame a 9 game deficit to overtake the wildcard on the last pitch of the 2011 regular season, but how many people know that the Rangers come into this game having won 12 of their L14 games. TEX went 5-4 in head to head match-ups in 2011, and CJ Wilson was a perfect 2-0 against the Rays in 3 starts against them this year. This Rangers team is essentially the same from last year's playoff squad (minus Lee and Vlad - but with addition of Beltre) and this team is hungry for a chance to repeat their success of last year. Even further, in the L5 games Wilson has started against the Rays, the Rangers have easily won by more than 2 R's in 4 of those games. In fact, he has held them scoreless in 2 out of those 5 games (although one was aided by the bullpen) and it makes me want to suggest going with the Rangers on the RL - 1.5 in this one. But we wont get too greedy on day one of the playoffs. We'll just take a TEX victory. The Rays came all that way back to make it to the postseason and start an untested rookie in game 1 of the series. Moore will get his first shot at playoff greatness against one of the toughest lineups in MLB. I will say this now - if the Rangers end up putting out a lineup that has Cruz batting 8th - this one should be a lock as the Rangers line-up should score early and often in this one. Add to that the Rays should have had the bubble of momentum burst over the L24 hours or so. I say roll with the TEX RANGERS to win this one at home........
OVER 8 TB RAYS @ TEX RANGERS (-110) --
Pretty much the same reasoning as we went with on the Rangers victory - as I just think this Rangers team is going to get out to a nice lead against the untested rookie and put a few runs on the board. Even if it is kept close throughout, these two teams should manage to make it a 4-4 game or something near that throughout. I say jump on the OVER 8 here......
