(TP) UNDER 41 MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ CHICAGO BEARS (W / 20-17)
Someway, somehow this Bears team should find a way to keep this one close here tonight. For starters, the Bears should be a little amped for this one, as they get the Monday night showdown against a banged up Vikings squad, while also showcasing their new prodigy, Trubisky, is his debut at QB. Bradford will most likely be back under center for the Vikings as well tonight, although they will also now be without the services of their rookie stud RB, Cook, who went down last week. The Bears always seem to keep this matchup close in Chicago, including last seasons 20-10 win there on Halloween night as a +4.5 favorite. That was a Bradford versus Cutler match-up of course, with both QB's having respectable games, each going just over 250 yards and tossing a TD and 0 INT. Chicago has also pretty much owned this home-and-home series when playing at home since the 2001-02 season, holding a dominant 13-2 ML and 11-4 ATS record in the L15 against Minnesota at Soldier Field. In fact, their only 2 ML losses in that span were both by exactly 3 points and the losses ATS in that run have had 2 come in those 3 point losses and the other 2 come in outright wins. So after seeing those trends, this +4 seems like a gift. The Vikings are 6-1 ATS in their L7 games after allowing 15 points or less in their previous game, however the Bears are now 4-0 ATS in their L4 after scoring 15 points or less in theirs. The Under has also hit for a 4-0 mark in those same games, while the Bears have cashed in for their Under backers at a 7-1 rate in their L8 immediately following an ATS loss the week before. Minnesota and Chicago have played to an 8-3 record for the Under in their L11 meetings overall, while the L5 matchups played in Chicago have cashed at a 4-1 tally for the Under as well. Take the CHICAGO BEARS and the UNDER for this Monday night meeting......

(TP) UNDER 44 CHICAGO BEARS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS (L / 35-14)
I know it's hard to go against the Packers here, especially when about 80% of the public is riding them as well tonight, but the Bears proved on Sunday, in a home OT win over the Steelers, they are no pushovers this season. They looked like one in their lone road game at Tampa Bay two weeks ago, as they were blown out of the stadium 29-7 in the loss, although the Bucs were coming off a non-scheduled bye from week 1 due to the hurricane. The Packers eeked out a 27-24 win in OT over the Bengals themselves, failing to cover for their backers as a 7-point favorite on their home turf. Chicago has covered 2-of-their-first-3 spreads so far this season, with all 3 coming in at right around a TD differential and the Bears are also 2-1 ATS in the L3 meetings against the Packers. Green Bay has completely dominated this series overall though, posting an 8-2 ML record in the L10 meetings between the two teams, although 2-of-the-L3 meetings have been decided by 4 points or less. Chicago has also managed to split the L2 and the L4 meetings played in Green Bay, with both wins coming as a +7.5 point and a +10 point underdog. Da Bears ended up with a closer result against Atlanta this season, as Chicago lost to the Falcons 27-23 at home in week 1, while the Packers took a blowout 34-23 defeat at Atlanta in week 2. Chicago also currently comes into today with a perfect 5-0 ATS mark in their L5 against a team with a winning record, while Green Bay is currently 0-4 ATS in their L4 against losing teams. However, the favorite has posted a 10-3 ATS mark in the L13 between these franchises and no surprisingly then, the Bears are also 3-10 ATS in their L13 meetings. The Under is 4-1 in the L5 meetings as well, while the Bears have posted a 5-1 mark for the Under in their L6 against teams with a winning record. In case you were wondering, the underdog has covered in each of the first 3 Thursday Night NFL games, with Kansas City scoring the upset at New England in week 1, Houston getting the upset at Cincinnati in week 2 in an under and the 49'ers losing at home by less than a FG for the cover last week. The Packers were a perfect 3-0 ML and ATS at home against division foes last season, but they were 0-3 ATS the year prior in that situation. They are 6-5 ATS in their L11 at home against the Central. The Bears last win at Green Bay came two seasons ago on a Thursday night game as a +7.5 underdog, much like this one tonight. This is the first time in their 195 career matchups against each other, that both are coming in off an OT victory. The Bears pulled out the win against Pittsburgh on the ground, rushing for over 220 yards versus the Steelers. If they can do that again tonight, which is very possible against a Packers defense allowing 113 YPG on the ground and 21st ranked in the NFL, they should be able to keep this one within a TD. We may be overthinking it here, but still have to go with the CHICAGO BEARS and the UNDER here tonight.....

(TP) UNDER 38 HOUSTON TEXANS @ CINCINNATI BENGALS (W / 13-9)
This could be the worst game of the week to watch, especially if these two teams end up playing like they did last week. Just don't think the Bengals are worth almost a TD on the spread, coming off last week's 23-0 opening week loss to Baltimore at home. Houston is in dire straits in terms of the QB position as Savage was the man heading into last week and then got pulled after 31 plays and the Texans are expected to start with Watson under center for tonight's game. Watson might be a little slowed after suffering an ankle injury in practice this week, but either way he will have a tough task building on his 102 yard performance last week with a TD. He and Savage were also sacked 10 times combined against Jacksonville, so Houston's line will have to play better, but that could be tough as well missing two key starters from it. Houston has actually dominated the series between these two franchises, winning two straight meetings and posting a 7-1 ML mark in the L8 against the Bengals. Houston has also posted a 7-2 ATS record in the L9 versus Cincinnati and perhaps because the two teams have squared off every season since 2011, these games always seem to end up close. The last two meetings since the 2015-16 season have been decided by a combined 6 points and 4 of the L6 meetings have been decided by 6 points or less as well. This matchup has also seen the Under cash in each of the L4 games, while Under backers have managed to post a 7-2 mark in their favor in the L9 showdowns. Cincinnati has posted 4 straight Unders in Week 2 games, while this matchup has seen the total stay to 35 points or less in each of the L4 meetings. Neither team has topped the 12-point mark in either of the last 2 meetings since the 2015-16 season. Go with the HOUSTON TEXANS and the UNDER in this THURSDAY night affair....

(TP) PITTSBURGH STEELERS (-9.5) AND (L / 21-18)
(TP) NDER 47 PITTSBURGH STEELERS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS (W / 21-18)
We get a couple of AFC North matchups this opening week and we have to go with history when these squads match up as well. The Steelers obviously have owned the Browns in recent meetings, as they are 7-2 ML and 6-2-1 ATS in the L9 meetings between the two teams since the 2012-13 season. Pittsburgh also now holds a 11-4 ML and 8-6-1 ATS record in the L15 meetings between the division rivals. Pittsburgh closed out last season on a 4-0 ML and ATS record in their L4 games playing as the road favorite, while the Browns are currently mired in a 1-11 ML and ATS drought in their L12 home games in which they are playing as the underdog. Cleveland has also lost 14-of-their-L15 games playing as the home underdog. The Browns have also struggled mightily against their own division as well, posting a measly 0-10-1 ATS mark in their L11 against the AFC North and they haven't won a home game against the division since they last beat Pittsburgh there in October of 2014. They are heading into today's opener having posted a pathetic 0-7 ML and ATS mark in their L7 at home against the AFC North. Cleveland has also been absolutely pathetic at home in Week #1 of the season lately, posting an 0-9 ML and ATS record in their L9 home games on Week #1, with the last time they won in that situation coming all the way back in 2004. As for the Under, these two teams have played to 6 straight Unders when facing off in Cleveland, while also hitting for the Under at an 8-1 clip in their L9 played there. They have actually combined to go over 47 points only 1 time since the 1999-2000 season when playing in Cleveland. Don't really see how you can get away from those type of trends. Run with the PITTSBURGH STEELERS and the UNDER in today's rematch....
(TP) CINCINNATI BENGALS (-3) (L / 0-20)
Another game that we just have to chalk up to recent meetings between these divisional rivals and although the Bengals are missing Burfect for the opening 3 weeks of the season, leaving several to doubt their strength in this opening week matchup, with Flacco supposedly not in the best of condition with his back, the Bengals should have enough to once again pick up the win on their home turf. Cincinnati has fared pretty well in this battle in recent meetings, with the Bengals having won 6-of-the-L7 meetings between the two teams, while also controlling the matchup when playing in Ohio, reeling off 5 straight wins in the L5 meetings in the series played in Cincinnati. The Bengals are also now 4-1 ATS in the L5 meetings played at home, while holding a 5-2 ATS mark in the L7 overall with their divisional rival. Baltimore has dominated the division in recent games, posting an impressive 8-1 ATS record in their L9 against the AFC North, although they are a dismal 1-6 ATS in their L7 away from home. Go with the CINCINNATI BENGALS in this AFC North battle.....
(TP) ARIZONA CARDINALS (-2) AND (L / 23-35)
OVER 48 ARIZONA CARDINALS @ DETROIT LIONS (W / 35-23)
The Cardinals also seem to have the Lions number over the years, although they don't play quite as frequently as the divisional foes listed above. Arizona now holds a 7-0 ML and 6-1 ATS record in the L7 meetings between the two franchises, with the Cardinals also posting a perfect 4-0 ML and ATS record in the L4 games between them since the 2012-13 season. Detroit finished on a down note last season, losing their L5 games ATS and they have now also posted an 0-5 ATS mark in their L5 against the NFC. The Over has been absolutely money as well for Cardinals backers, as they finished last season hitting the over for a 7-0 mark in their L7 games overall and a 6-0 mark in their L6 against the NFC, The Over has also cashed for a 5-0 mark in the L5 meetings between these two squads played in Detroit. Run with the ARIZONA CARDINALS and the OVER in Detroit for this early matchup.....
(TP) CAROLINA PANTHERS (-4.5) (W / 23-3)
The 49'ers should be much improved from last season, although after last seasons debacle, how could they not be, but the Panthers should be returning to form and with a healthy Newton should be back in top playoff form. The Panthers have won 5-of-the-L6 meetings between the two teams, while also posting a 6-1 ATS mark in the L7 against SF. Carolina also holds a 7-3 ML and 8-2 ATS record in the L10 against the 49'ers since the turn of the millennium. San Francisco in their L6 season opener's, however they also come in with a 1-6 ATS mark in their L7 at home. The 49'ers are also 1-4 ATS in their L5 September games. San Francisco has also dropped 6 straight games at home on both the ML and ATS when playing against a non-conference foe. Less than a TD just doesn't seem like enough here. Roll with the CAROLINA PANTHERS in the bay....
WASHINGTON REDSKINS (+1) (L / 17-30)
The Redskins seem to have the Eagles number in recent seasons and come into today's opening week showdown with 5 straight ML wins in the series and have put together a 6-0 ATS record in their L6 against Philadelphia. In fact, the Skins now hold a 7-3 ML and 8-2 ATS record in the L10 games in this rivalry. Expect this one to be close, but we have to give the edge to the home team in this matchup. Go with the WASHINGTON REDSKINS at home.....
OAKLAND RAIDERS (+3) (W / 26-16)
The Raiders are looking like a top team in the AFC and today should be a good shot for them to show off their team. The line continues to move in Tennessee's favor, but just not buying into it. This Raiders offense is stocked and loaded. Take the OAKLAND RAIDERS here today....

(TP) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (+9) AND (W / 42-27)
(TP) UNDER 48 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (L / 42-27)
This line just seems too high for this match-up, especially if you consider this Chiefs team to be as highly regarded as most of the NFL pundits out there this season. Have to accept a bit of a letdown for the seemingly ageless Brady after a historic season for the elderly QB, capped with the most miraculous of comebacks in the Super Bowl. New England has dominated in recent years on opening night, winning 8 straight games to kick off the season, while also having posted a perfect 7-0 ML mark when playing on Thursday night. Brady has been downright legendary on Thursday nights himself, posting a perfect 9-0 ML mark in those games, with an eye-popping 24 TD against only 2 INT. Sounds much like his overall performance last season, as the record-shattering QB came back from his 4-game suspension to start the season, by posting 28 TD and only 2 INT over his 12 games. Hence why we see a reason to suspect at least a small drop-off this season for the aging vet, while have to assume the same for the Patriots defense, who played lights out last season, leading the league with 15.6 points allowed per game in 2016-17. It will be interesting to see the Pats defense against this young Chiefs offense, as Kansas City will still have Alex Smith under center, but will no showcase a 2nd year WR in Hill and a rookie RB in Hunt. Tough task for a young gun to face, opening the season in New England on the opening night of the NFL season as well as the night the Patriots will celebrate last season's historic win. The home team has dominated this match-up since 1998, posting a 9-1 ML record in that span, while also covering the spread at a 4-1 ATS clip in the L5 meetings since 2005. New England is a perfect 6-0 ML in the L6 meetings played in Foxboro against the Chiefs and hold a 4-2 ATS mark in those same games. However, 4-of-the-L5 wins against the Chiefs there in that span have come by a TD or less. Kansas City comes into this season after having posted a 6-0 ATS mark in their L6 road games last season, although they are 1-4 ATS in the opening month of the NFL season. New England comes in with a 5-0 ATS mark in their L5 games played during the month of September. This one most likely will be a Patriots win as usual, but should stay within a TD or less we suspect. Go with the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS and the UNDER in tonight's opening showcase.....
